nvidia GEforce 8600 GS lockup/crashes

hey my name is franck i have a problem with my graphic card with is as far as i know a common problem to the nvidia 800 series...
and again as far as i know the problem is caused by a building mistake when constructing the graphic card..
but i might be
wrong

heres some details that you guys might find helpful to solve this problem..

I have a stationary computer
with Windows7 Ultimate 64bit
i have 2 500GB hard drives..
and 2 GB of ram.
and i have a nvidia GEforce 8600 GS

my problem ac cures like this I'm playing a very light game World of warcraft (patched)
WHEN AFTER 1 MINUTE - 6 HOURS
my graphic card lockups/crashes
meaning that the hole screen stop's reacting and gives strange squared colors
where the sound that i was listening to keeps repeating..
if i wait while the crash/lockup is going on it will give strange different colored strings on my screen after a reboot
it's impossible to actually stop the crash ive tried multiply thing measuring temperatures measuring how much electricity it gets ive even tried lowering down the graphic details in wow(world of warcraft)

neither of the things helped
it seemed after moving from windows vista home basic 32bit to windows7 ultimate 64bit
that the crashes had stopped  but after close to 1 month the crashed keep coming back and it got worse....

I'm what i would refer to a "ADVANCED USER"

AND BELIEVE ME IVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM...
IVE EVEN SENT MY COMPUTER TO REPAIR BUT THEY COULDN'T FIX IT THEY CLAIMED MY GRAPHIC CARD HAD A BUILDING MISTAKE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG BUT THESE PROBLEMS ACCRUE FOR MANY NVIDIA 8600 users?

PLEASE HELP ME..

Solutions to the Problem nvidia GEforce 8600 GS lockup/crashes

Hi Franck,
First I would suggest that you reduce the hardware acceleration on the computer and check if it works.
1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking
Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking
Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.

2. Click Advanced Settings, click the Troubleshoot tab, and then click
Change settings.
Note that some video card drivers do not permit you to change settings.
3. Move the Hardware acceleration slider toward None to reduce or turn off video hardware acceleration.

If the above step fails then try to download the driver software directly from the website of your computer manufacturer or display card manufacturer.
You may also try posting your query in the Nvidia forums.

Hope this helps!
